Big changes are happening around here! Nashville Fit + Style is now going to be called Nashville Home + Style. Crystal and I truly loved pairing up together to run the blog the past couple of years. She wants to focus more on her primary job + family. We will miss blogging together but still are best of friends. I took a career change late last summer and entered into working with my family's real estate company. So it seemed natural that I could combine my love for real estate, home decor, and style into this blog!
While working in the pharmaceutical industry I started an Instagram fashion page on the side after the birth of my second son as a favor to my friends who wanted styling help. It helped me fill a void that I was missing in my day-to-day sales rep life which also led to styling clients. Soon after Crystal and I joined forces to create Nashville Fit + Style and had a blast doing it. Leaving 16 years of pharma sales behind I passionately jumped into residential real estate focusing on exceptional client service. I am so excited to share my love of style, interior design and fabulous real estate finds in the Nashville area. Excited to have you here!
My style philosophy is to not take yourself too seriously. Home decor + fashion is supposed to be FUN! I love to #mixitup- mixing high and low brands together for a modern way of living. There are numerous retailers out there that provide affordable pieces + fashion, so why not take advantage of that? It's important to purchase a few classic pieces, or accessories, that are the foundation of your home + wardrobe. Those pieces can be your more expensive items and then use more cost effective pieces to fill in the gaps. My favorite item to splurge on is handbags. I dream about handbags (insert eye roll). I love pairing a designer bag with my favorite on trend Target outfit!
For home home + closet maintenance, I believe that if you purchase an item you must purge an item as well. Having a cluttered home or closet makes it impossible to feel comfortable. Color coding and streamlined items in your wardrobe help get you out of the door faster in the morning. I use several local resale shops and online resale sites as well to purge my items.
We are going to have a lot of fun with home decor and fashion, so follow me on social media @nashvillehomestyle and the blog!
